She is SO sweet!  Her birth weight was 3 pounds, 2 ounces and she was a whopping 16 inches long!  Her condition today is stable, but she is on high levels of oxygen and they are trying to reduce her edema.  They have concluded that she had a congenital hemorrhage in the womb that caused her to have such little blood.  Matt and Kris feel that she has very good care from the Doctors and staff at Utah Valley Regional Hospital.

Kiya is so precious, and has such a strong will to fight.  We love her and continue to hope for the best!

  1. Steph, thanks for creating this blog, we feel so far away right now so it's nice to be able to be connected. We will be praying for Kiya and as my mom always says we will continue to put our positive thoughts and prayers out into the universe for her, Kristen, Matt and the boys.

Lots of love to the Banzhaf Family!!!

  3. Such a sweet little blessing she is!~ It is truely amazing that Kristen was prompted to follow her feelings and get care.
We know first hand that the NICU, although a safe, wonderfully staffed, and supportive place, can be an emotional rollercoaster. There will be peaks and valleys as you move forward nuturing this tender small flower.

Matt & Kris...HE is with this little girl right now. HE is very near. Watching over and comforting her. And you.
The peace of that knowledge will be whispered to your heart throughout this journey. Especially during the most difficult times. " All is well, All is well".

The love you feel for her will never change. The love we already feel for her, will never change. We love you all and offer prayers in your families behalf daily. We pray for miracles and smiles once more.
    Love you all!

Grandpa and I are praying around the clock for you and little Kiya...Kris and Matt I am here to do anything that you need...I'm sure you have all kinds of help right now, but when things are getting a little tight with others' time, I will be here...my thought is that I could come 2 days a week to prepare meals, get the boys ready, clean house or just visit - whatever you need...this family is so wanting to help in any way possible...we want to share our strength with you...you will never know how loved you all are!

All of our Love and Prayers are with you. Please know God loves you too.
