Thursday was my moms last round of her 12 week chemotherapy and I am so glad! It will definitely be the most difficult treatment as they build upon each other, but this portion is over. I didn't think it was possible to have more respect or admiration for my mother, but seeing her power through this trial has amazed me.
In the Wizard of OZ each character is missing something that they want to attain and it got me thinking "how do you instill important attributes into you children?" The lion needs courage, the tin man needs a heart and the scarecrow needs a brain. My mothers example has taught me that character is not something you teach through words, but through action and example. You give them courage by showing them how hard things are survived. You give them heart by being completely selfless even in your darkest hour. You give them intelligence by teaching them to make good choices and remain positive especially when you don't want to. I doubt you know it mom, but you have taught me all the days of my life by being wonderful you. Because of you I know how to do it right. I luv U!
